Until this clears its bar, our panel says "not yet": it names the questions and what we're doing about them, but no confident verdicts. How we learn
Still learning about: ChatGPT for students, Claude for Education, Copilot in schools, Gemini for education, Khanmigo. A name earns its own card once our research holds enough on it (3 tracked milestones, or 3 independent sources in 60 days).
The questions our panel debates
Is AI helping my child learn, or doing the thinking for them?
The difference is in how it's used: an AI that asks questions builds skill; one that hands out answers can wear it away. We track which is which.
What changes by age?
A seven-year-old, a twelve-year-old and a seventeen-year-old need very different rules. We sort the evidence by age.
What are teachers seeing in the classroom?
Homework, essays, attention, cheating and new ways of teaching - from teachers' own reports, on every side.
What about AI companions and screen time?
Chatbots as friends are a different question from chatbots as tutors. We follow both.
What can I do this week?
Practical, evidence-backed habits for parents and teachers - see Small AI, used well.
How we cover it
We follow teachers, learning scientists, child-development researchers and the companies building these tools, on every side. Our Kids & Learning module is still in training: it joins the panel's verdicts only once this area clears its bar. Until then the panel names the questions, shares the evidence as it arrives, and says "not yet".
